Product Overview:
The AL-310 is the most cost effective USB to RS485/RS422 converter on the market, 
yet it has all the features you would expect to see from more expensive models.  
Features like automatic RS485 driver enable/disable (auto-turnaround) to facilitate 
multi-drop functionality. The AL-310's also supports baud rates up to 3Mbaud 
(3000Kbaud) and has comprehensive protection against both thermal and current  
overload, with built-in immunity to +/-15kV ESD and short circuits. The unit does not 
require external powering as it draws power directly from the PC's USB port.
AL-310 supports several different standard operating modes for maximum device 
compatibility. Whether it is part of a 2-wire1 half-duplex system or a 4-wire full-duplex 
system, acting as a slave or master, AL-310 is ideal for interfacing any USB equipped 
PC or Laptop computer with all types of RS422/RS485 devices.
Where the converter is being used in 2-wire mode the transmit and receive signals on 
the RS422 side should be connected together externally. In this mode the unit will  
automatically disable its RS485 driver while not transmitting, allowing other devices to 
transmit.

Notes:
1. When used in 2-wire mode the AL-310 local echo will be permanently enabled.
